WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Two men have been arrested for allegedly stealing a car in West Haven.
At around 12:15 p.m. on Halloween, West Haven officers saw a stolen Subaru driving on Boston Post Road.
Police say the driver attempted to elude the officers but unknowingly turned onto a dead-end street. When the officer activated his emergency lights, police say the driver tried to maneuver around the police cruiser.
“The officer was able to pin the Subaru against a chain-link fence, leaving it with nowhere to go,” police said in a statement.
Two men, later identified as 40-year-old Marcelas Hines and 28-year-old Jared Benjamin, were then arrested.
Police say a search of the Subaru found several stolen credit cards and a small amount of narcotics.
