ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday in connection with a shooting that happened in mid-October.

Shagura Mack is charged with murder in the Oct. 18 shooting that killed Jody Riley, deputies said.

Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Gregg Street, where they found Riley dead from multiple gunshot wounds, the agency said in a news release.

Investigators identified Mack as the suspect and arrested him on Monday without incident.

“Our team worked around the clock to ensure that this violent offender was taken off the streets,” Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said.

Mack was being held as of Monday afternoon at the Orangeburg County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
