The Thames Valley Regional Athletics (TVRA) senior football final will be held in St. Thomas for a second straight year.

The local high school championship between Catholic Central and St. Andre Bessette is scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. on the turf at 1Password Park in the Railway City. A late push to move the game to Western alumni stadium fell just short of the goal line.

That effort, though, has the local football community optimistic the championship will soon return to London and the home of the Western Mustangs.

“The pathway is there,” said Mike Stenning, TVRA co-ordinator of secondary athletics. “We’re coming back. It’ll be in London (soon). At this point, it was difficult to rush something in. Western was more than amenable to work with and I have no concerns.
