NEW HARTFORD, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- New Hartford Police arrested two juveniles over the weekend after a theft at the Commercial Drive Wal-Mart.
Police were called to the Consumer Square business at approximately 5 pm on Sunday, November 9 after a loss prevention officer reported that multiple juveniles were attempting to steal merchandise. When police arrived, they attempted to arrest one of the juveniles, one of them being a 13-year-old female.
As they attempted to apprehend the female juvenile, she began to resist arrest physically. As this was occurring, a parent of one of the juveniles attempted to interfere with officers.
New Hartford Police have said that charges against the parent are pending. Ultimately, two juveniles -- the female and another 13-year-old male -- were arrested.
