A Peoria man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and attacking her over the weekend.
Andre D. Johnson, 41, was charged with home invasion and domestic battery following the incident. A judge granted the state’s petition to detain Johnson, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial.
Police responded to the 1200 block of North Orange Street in the West Bluff around 6 a.m. on November 9 for a report of a disturbance.
A witness at the scene told officers a man had hit her and was inside the house attacking her sister.
Officers heard yelling inside the home, rushed in, and found Johnson on top of a woman. Officers pulled him off the victim and took him into custody.
