LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The City of Lansing has activated its extreme weather plan called Code Blue.

Code Blue is triggered when temperatures drop below 25 degrees for two hours or more. The plan allows shelters, including community centers, to extend their hours and serve as warming spaces for those in need.

Advent House Ministries is one of the available shelters. Executive Director Susan Cancro says providing these spaces is crucial.

“People can come in and be in the gym and be warm. And get something to eat and get water.
