LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A Las Vegas shooting has shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 11 Monday afternoon, causing major traffic delays in the area.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported the incident around 4 p.m. One person was taken to a nearby hospital due to gunfire, police said.

I-11 southbound at Flamingo Road is closed along all southbound ramps from eastbound lanes leading to I-11, Nevada State Police posted on X.

Authorities have not yet released how long the roadway is expected to remain blocked.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes as crews work to clear the scene.
