To Kingman locals, honoring the city’s past is more than just a statue in the park, or a plaque on a building. It’s a mentality that means honoring those who were a part of the city’s past. It’s a mentality that local historian Tom Saluzzo is helping to foster.

Originally established as a railroad town in 1882, Kingman has been a home for indigenous peoples, a booming mining industry, and thousands of World War II soldiers who trained at the Kingman Army Airfield, one of the largest aerial gunnery camps in the nation.
