A man reportedly drove his vehicle into a house in Butler late Monday night, Nov. 10, after fleeing police who asked for his identification while he was parked in a parking lot.

Police identified the man as Joseph Bailie in a Tuesday, Nov. 11, news release. Police said the man attempted to turn right onto Hansen Avenue after a chase around 11:50 p.m. Monday, but lost control due to his speed and crashed into house at 1015 New Castle St.

Bailie is being charged with fleeing police, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence and other traffic offenses.

Police said the residence was vacant during the incident. The man reportedly fled into the house before being arrested.
