The RSPCA is appealing for information following the horrible discovery of an underweight dog found dumped by a canal.

The charity say the animal, a male French Bulldog, was found by a member of the public near Plantation Farm in Dukinfield in Tameside on September 29 of this year.

They were working close to the High Peak canal and noticed a 'strong smell' in the farm car park. On investigation they found the body of a dog wrapped in a towel and placed inside a cardboard box.
