BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — The leaders of multiple law enforcement agencies have hired an outside agency to review their response to the politically-motivated shootings that claimed the lives of House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and dog Gilbert, and wounded State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette.
Agencies involved in the response that night have contracted with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to evaluate their efforts and highlight learning opportunities from the events of that morning, which "required rapid mobilization, extensive coordination and seamless communication among hundreds of public safety officials."
