A former Monmouth County special education teacher found not guilty of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old student is again suing the girl’s family and school officials.
Jenna Sciabica left her position at Marlboro Memorial Middle School last year after being charged with harassment-offensive touching following a month-long investigation. The charge stemmed from an in-school interaction with a female student, where she was accused of touching the girl’s chest in a hallway between classes.
The case caught the public’s attention when the student’s parents aired the accusation at a Marlboro board of education meeting.
Sciabica was later found not guilty of the charge, a petty disorderly offense, after prosecutors determined a criminal sexual act was not committed.
