Four men have been indicted in an auto theft and home invasion ring in South Jersey, the state Attorney General’s Office said.
Tyree Payton, 25, of Clementon; Israel Ortiz, 23, of Sewell; Jeremiah Lugo, 19, of Clementon; and Sakie Smith, 30, of Philadelphia, are accused of breaking into homes to steal key fobs and using them to steal luxury vehicles and other items, officials said.
The men allegedly stole 11 vehicles and attempted to take four others between March 15 and May 23 in Burlington County and surrounding areas, the Office of the Attorney General said.
In some cases, they targeted unlocked vehicles parked in driveways, sometimes with the keys still inside, according to officials.
