The relationship between Canadian woman Tatiana Dokhotaru and her ex-boyfriend Danny Zayat was explosive.

Volatile, dysfunctional and at a “real low,” an Australian court heard.

In May 2023, bad blood turned to extreme violence at Dokhotaru’s apartment in Sydney . Late last week, Zayat, 31, was convicted of killing the vivacious blond after the jury deliberated nearly four days.

“I was screaming… jumping up and down,” Dokhotaru’s friend Amber Haleta told Global News of her reaction to the verdict.

Haleta said that her friend had suffered through years of abuse and death threats. A domestic violence restraining order against Zayat in 2022 did little.
