CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A Costco store in Butler County wants to be the first in Pennsylvania to sell beer and wine.

Online records show the chain filed an application with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for the store on Cranberry Square Drive in Cranberry Township.

The license would allow the store to sell beer and wine if it has cafe seating and separate cash registers for purchases.

Costco is looking to get the license that was previously held by Houlihan's in Cranberry .
