LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Chancellor Rodney Bennett released the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s final $27.5 million budget reduction plan on Monday, following input from thousands of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders.

The university and its Academic Planning Committee were tasked with revising the original budget plan to incorporate feedback and recommendations gathered in recent weeks.

“I do not take any of these decisions lightly,” Bennett said. “Each reduction carries with it the weight of personal impact on individual students, faculty and staff, whose contributions to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln matter, regardless of how their unit’s productivity is measured.”
