A fiery head-on collision between two tractor-trailer trucks shortly after noon Tuesday blocked the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 south of Arkadelphia, Arkansas Department of Transportation officials said.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., one truck crashed through the cable barriers, crossed the median and hit another truck, causing the vehicles and nearby woods to catch fire, department spokesman Dave Parker said.

"No word on injuries, but the scene looks pretty bad," Parker said.

Around 2 p.m., a traffic camera positioned on I-30 at exit 69 near Gum Springs showed a truck trailer resting on its side across the roadway near heaps of debris that appeared to be burned.
