KALAMAZOO, MI — Kalamazoo’s beloved Michigan News Agency is reopening its doors for three days in November.
From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 28 and 29, customers can browse the shelves at 308 W. Michigan Ave. for 50% off.
It’s been closed since owner Dean Hauck died at age 86 in February.
Property owner Kalamazoo Forward Ventures (KzFV), a Black-founded investment fund, is hosting the sale.
KzFV bought the “historic” property and everything in it for $515,000 in July, per public records.
“When Dean passed away, her daughters really generously let people come in and experience the store,” said Marcel Fable Price, KzFV director of community and strategic engagement. “But so many people wanted to take a piece of Michigan News with them.”
