COLUMBIA, S.C. — State health officials say there have been eight new measles cases reported in South Carolina since Friday, November 7, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Tuesday update.
The total number of measles cases this year is now 46 statewide. DPH says 13 people are currently in quarantine and one person is in isolation.
Six of the eight new cases are household members of known cases who were in quarantine. The other two are in the same household, but the source of their infection has not yet been determined.
