SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio —

Officials have seized more than 100 slot machines and $200,000 in an illegal gambling investigation focused in southern Ohio.

According to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, the year-long investigation focused on three businesses in South Point, New Boston and Portsmouth. Advertisement

The Southern Ohio Organized & Major Crimes Task Force is building a case against the three businesses and is presenting its findings to a grand jury.

“This case is a clear example of what can be accomplished when citizens speak up and law enforcement agencies work together. The success of this investigation so far is due to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of everyone involved,” the director of the task force said.
