GREENVILLE, S.C. —
A multimillion-dollar initiative works to improve quality of life in underserved areas across Greenville.
City councilmembers approved the use of Neighborhood Infrastructure Bonds, or NIB, in 2022 to recognize the needs for road, sidewalk, community center and park improvements in historic and incoming communities. Since these funds were established, the city has used roughly $46.7 million, split into two phases.
The bonds are made to evenly split infrastructure needs between each of the representing districts so rebuilding community spaces, creating a safe commute or improving mobility is no longer an afterthought.
