FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A new non-profit with deep ties to President Donald Trump, called Fair Maps Indiana, is advocating for redistricting in Indiana.

It comes as state lawmakers plan to meet early next month to take up the issue.

Fair Maps Indiana chairman, Marty Obst, said he’s been a fan of President Trump’s policies since he served as a senior advisor on his 2016 presidential campaign. That’s what sparked his interest in the current redistricting debate.

“So I’ve been following, obviously, this national conversation about redistricting, and a group of us founded a 501(c)(4) non-profit last year called ‘Defending America’s Comeback,’” he said.
