Is the U.S. preparing to attack Venezuela?

The South American nation appears to be readying itself for just that. Venezuela said it is launching a “massive mobilization” of military personnel in response to U.S. warships and troops being sent to the Caribbean Sea in August.

Land, air, naval and reserve forces were expected to carry out exercises through Wednesday, according to Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez, who described the deployment as a response to the “imperialist threat” posed by the U.S. build-up.
