VERNON, Conn. — Soupfest has been a cornerstone event in Vernon for more than 17 years, raising funds to support the Cornerstone Community Kitchen , which provides meals and resources to local residents in need.

Tom Stauffer, president of Cornerstone’s Board of Directors, said the need for their services has grown significantly in recent months.
