Carson’s Mary Spry (25) defends Salisbury’s MaKayla Noble. JON C LAKEY / FOR THE SALISBURY POST. 11/30/21, China Grove,NC.
Staff report
WILSON — MaKayla Noble played 23 minutes in her first game for the Barton Bulldogs and contributed seven points and four rebounds in an 81-62 loss to William & Mary.
Noble, a 5-foot-11 sophomore forward, transferred to DII Barton after spending her freshman year at the University of Albany. She was hurt early in the season there and didn’t get to play much for the Great Danes.
Noble was a star at Salisbury High, playing on state champion teams in 2021-22 and 2022-23 and scoring more than 1,000 points for the Hornets.
Barton was 14-16 last season, so Noble should get plenty of opportunities to shine.
Barton plays two games in Augusta this weekend. The
