Sixth-seeded Freehold Township will look to return to the top of Central Jersey, Group 4, after defeating second-seeded Howell 2-1 in penalty kicks in the semifinals in Farmingdale.

Freshman Morgan Notaro gave Freehold Township (9-10-2) a 1-0 lead in the first half before Howell (16-5) tied things up in the second half.

After two scoreless overtime periods, Freehold Township bested Howell in penalty kicks 4-3.

Freehold Township will face top-seeded Manalapan, No. 5 in the NJ.com Top 20, in a rematch of the 2022 and 2023 finals on Saturday.

The Patriots will appear in their sixth sectional finals since 2019, winning four of them.

Notaro leads Freehold Township with 14 goals this season.
