Free agent projections are out, and so it is that time again — time for the annual “should the Rangers sign This Player” polls.
Today, we are looking at outfielder Kyle Tucker.
Tucker is a 28 year old right fielder who was with the Houston Astros prior to being traded to the Chicago Cubs this past offseason. Tucker slashed .266/.377/.464 in 2025 for the Chicago Cubs, and has a career slash line of .273/.358/.507. He has put up between a 4.6 and 5.5 bWAR in each of the last five years, though it should be noted that the 4.7 bWAR he put up in 2024 was in just 78 games, as he missed half the season due to injury.
Over at Fangraphs, Ben Clemens projects Tucker at 10 years, $370 million as the #1 free agent in their top 50, while the median crowdsource has Tucker at 8 years, $280 million. At
