A great-grandmother who was struck by a van in a supermarket car park has tragically passed away. Alicia Ternant was airlifted to hospital following the incident, which occurred outside Morrison's, in Alnwick, Northumberland, at around 1.45pm on October 29.
Sadly, the 69 year old, from Alnwick, died on Thursday. The Chronicle previously reported that she had been using a white walking stick at the time.
Northumbria Police stated that the collision was believed to involve a white Mercedes Sprinter van and the driver remained at the scene following the incident. On Thursday, Alicia's family have expressed their heartbreak as they pay tribute to her.
