SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - An Orangeburg County man is facing a drug trafficking charge in Berkeley County following a late-night traffic stop in which his behavior made deputies suspicious.
David E. Myers, 50, of Bowman, is charged with trafficking around 28 grams of meth.
Deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Community Oriented Police Enforcement Team were patrolling near Strathmore and Jedburg Roads Wednesday night when they saw a car driving with no headlights and defective brake lights.
They initiated a traffic stop just before 11:30 p.m. and spoke with the driver, who they say was Myers. Myers reportedly was quick to inform deputies that he and his passenger were both without valid driver’s licenses.
