The 52-year-old artist, whose legal name is Aliaune Thiam, was taken into custody by Chamblee police on Nov. 7 and booked into DeKalb County Jail before being released later that day, the news outlet said.
Fox 5 Atlanta reports , the arrest stemmed from a September incident in Roswell, Georgia, where officers found Akon stranded in a Tesla Cybertruck with a dead battery. A license plate check revealed the vehicle lacked valid insurance and that Akon’s license had been suspended due to a missed court date in January 2023.
