CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Although November hasn't seen much rainfall, the drought monitor has not expanded across the Charlotte area.
Even though it hasn't gotten worse, it also hasn't gotten better.
The only change was along the southern tip of South Carolina, where the drier-than-normal conditions grew. Otherwise, there were no changes in either South or North Carolina.
Charlotte is currently 1.02 inches drier than normal for November, which is already one of our drier months. We've only accumulated 0.29 inches of rain, whereas the average up to this date is 1.31 inches.
However, the Piedmont needs a lot more than that to be out of the drought completely. Those numbers are 4 - 5 inches within a month, or 10 - 11 inches within three months.
