On Friday, the New York Knicks (7-4, 0-1) host the Miami Heat (7-5, 1-0) at Madison Square Garden in the NBA Cup, and if you’re wondering how to catch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.
The Knicks are coming off a 124-107 loss to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, snapping a five-game winning streak. They trailed for the majority of the game and were down by as many as 21 points in the second half for their first loss this season in the Big Apple.
Jalen Brunson produced 31 points and six assists to lead the Knicks, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Brunson reportedly sustained a Grade 1 ankle sprain late in the game and is expected to be sidelined for at least Friday.
The Heat lost 130-116 to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday to split a two-game series in South Florida. The group led 97-93 entering the fourth quarter, but it was outscored 37-19 after shooting just 36.4% from the field in the period to fall down the stretch.
Norman Powell led the Heat with 27 points and five assists, Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists and Kel'el Ware added 15 points and 13 rebounds. Powell is the first player to record at least 20 points in eight out of their first nine games with the Heat.
The Heat and Knicks are meeting on the front end of a home-and-home series, with the second matchup scheduled for Monday. Miami won the first matchup of the season on Oct. 26, though New York has taken eight out of the previous 11 contests.
