The Union government will establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday.
Addressing the inauguration of the Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School (MRCSSS) and the Sagar Organic Plant via video conference, Shah said these newly planned schools will create pathways for students, particularly from several districts in Gujarat to join the armed forces.
Built at a cost of Rs50 crore, the MRC Sagar Sainik School is equipped with modern facilities including smart classrooms, hostels, a library, and a canteen, according to an official release. Shah said the school will stand as a “symbol of pride” for Mehsana under the Centre’s larger plan to open 100 such institutions.
