Toyota is recalling nearly 127,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles over a potential engine failure issue.

The automaker says debris from the manufacturing process could contaminate the engine and cause a failure of the main bearings.

That in turn could cause the engine to stall or a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

The recalled vehicles are the 2022 to 2024 Toyota Tundra and Lexus L-X and the 2024 Lexus G-X with V-35-a engines.

The vast majority of the vehicles are Tundras.

Toyota says it's still working on a solution.

Once a fix is ready, it will do free repairs.

The recall is an extension of an issue reported last year in which more than 102,000 Lexus L-X and Tundras were recalled.
