Henning, MN – A Henning man was hospitalized following a train and tractor collision Thursday afternoon (November 13).
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says the 67-year-old was driving a tractor, heading east on 290 th Street approaching the Canadian Pacific Railroad northwest of Henning, and was unable to stop when he saw a train heading south. The train and tractor collided at the railroad crossing.
The Henning Fire Department and Henning EMS responded to the scene and the tractor driver was transported to Perham Health for treatment of minor injuries. The train crew was not hurt. Deputies say the tractor was totaled and there was minor damage to the train. Several neighbors came to assist with clearing the machinery off the railroad tracks.
