FARGO — The Angel of Hope monument that was vandalized on Wednesday, Nov. 12, has been restored by the Fargo Park District.
Someone covered the word "hope" on the monument with green paint in multiple spots.
The Christmas Box Angel statue is one of more than 150 in the country and represents hope and healing for families mourning their children.
An event organizer with Angel of Hope said they hope whoever vandalized the monument realizes there are better ways to deal with despair than vandalism.
"My thought is it was maybe somebody who doesn't feel very hopeful right now, and so they're experiencing a lot of despair. And everybody on our Angel of Hope committee would hope that they find their way out of that," said Wendy Iwerks, Angel of Hope.
Angel of Hope will hold its annual candle
