A former police chief in Westmoreland County faces charges after officials claimed he had sold drugs.
In a news release Friday, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said 56-year-old Eric Doutt, the former police chief in Arnold, is accused of selling cocaine multiple times while under police surveillance. Mr. Doutt was taken into custody Wednesday and also faces gun charges regarding an allegedly stolen AR-style rifle.
Mr. Doutt retired from the Arnold department in January 2024, and he most recently was a police officer for UPMC, Mr. Sunday said in the news release. Mr. Doutt also was once a board member for the New Kensington-Arnold Area School District, according to Post-Gazette news partner KDKA.
