From sheep and a llama to lakefront living: Affordable apartments planned for Cleveland lakefront parcel

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The last time this Lake Erie–fronting parcel within an eyeshot from downtown drew buzz, it wasn’t for anything humans built — but for what grazed there.

Sheep and even a lone llama munched their way across the empty lot near Interstate 90 and East 55th Street as part of an urban grazing experiment launched in 2012 by St. Clair Superior Development Corp. as a sustainability and education initiative.
