HENDERSON, Ky. (WEVV) — With the rise of online shopping, doorsteps are becoming prime targets for package theft, prompting police to advise residents to stay vigilant.

A Facebook post from the Henderson Police Department in August showed a man stealing a package from a front porch.

Kyle Kempf from Evansville shared with 44News that his parents have experienced package theft.

"I think my parents have dealt with that before, order a present online, says it's delivered, and when they get home it's gone," said Kempf.

This issue affects people both locally and across the nation.

Recent statistics revealed that in 2024, Kentucky experienced a higher number of reported package thefts compared to Indiana. Kentucky saw a 29 percent increase, while Indiana's numbers declined, making it one of
