NEW ORLEANS —
A New Orleans woman encountered a significant road hazard at the intersection of Hollygrove and Fig streets when her car became stuck in a large hole, resulting in costly damage.

"I'm thinking I'm avoiding the water by going left, but when I turn my car left, the ground opened up," Montgomery said.
According to Montgomery, a piece of wood was the only thing preventing her car from sinking several feet below the surface.
The hole that took Montgomery's car was more than 4 feet deep and nearly 10 feet wide, which was a safety concern.
Montgomery attempted to contact the city to report the hole and the damage to her car.
