NEW ORLEANS —
Twenty years after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, displacing students across the city, Cabrini High School students were able to walk down the aisle for a special graduation ceremony.
The graduates, who were displaced by the storm, were able to participate in the ceremony, carrying the school's signature yellow rose. Advertisement
The rose is a symbol of the school's sisterhood.
The event, held Thursday, welcomed back alumnae from the classes of 2006, 2007 and 2008 for an honorary commencement ceremony recognizing those whose time at Cabrini was interrupted by Hurricane Katrina.
