GREENE COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) -The suspect in connection with a Fulton County, Ark., double murder died in custody Thursday night, according to Arkansas State Police.
From KAIT in Jonesboro, an ASP spokesperson identified the inmate as 32-year-old Jacob Smith, who was being held in connection with a Fulton County double murder.
Smith was being held in the Greene County, Ark., Jail on charges in the deaths of Tonya Stallings, 54, and Ashley Stallings, 33, both of Ash Flat. Deputies found the two women shot dead in their home on Oct. 21 .
Greene County, Ark., deputies said the inmate was found unresponsive around 11:50 p.m. Thursday in his cell. Staff contacted 911 to advise that the inmate was found unresponsive with a towel around their neck.
