The SAG Awards are rebranding. The annual awards ceremony will now be called the Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA … which means its full name is technically the 32 Annual Actor Awards Presented by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. “The statuette has always been called The Actor, and we’re simply aligning the show’s title with the name of the award itself and the union behind it,” Jon Brockett, the showrunner and executive producer of the awards show’s telecast, and JoBeth Williams, the chair of SAG-AFTRA’s Awards Committee, said in a joint November 14 statement announcing the change.
