OMAHA, Neb. —

The last of the equipment was rolled out and set up early Thanksgiving morning in 2000 as the idea of the Holiday Lights Festival was finally becoming a reality.

It took over a month and a half to string one million lights, featuring deer, a toy shop scene, and beautiful tree lights.

"Put you in the holiday spirit. It's just very nice that Omaha can do that," said one downtown visitor.
