MADISON (WKOW) -- The city of Madison announced on Friday evening three finalists for the Interim Independent Monitor position.
According to a news release, the finalists are Brooke Blakey, Aeiramique Glass and Mary Opler. The three gave presentations to the Police Civilian Oversight Board (PCOB) at its Nov. 11 meeting.
The city's Independent Monitor position was left vacant after Robin Copley announced her resignation in October, citing medical reasons .
The city previously stated that whoever is chosen for the interim role will not be eligible for the permanent position.
The news release from the city said the PCOB has already identified a top candidate from the three listed. They will be announced within the next week, pending successful completion of a background check.
