CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - The UVA Faculty Senate is calling for members of the school’s Board of Visitors to step down after former president Jim Ryan spoke out about his resignation.

In a 12 page letter to the UVA Faculty Senate, Jim Ryan says he felt ‘stunned and angry’ about the way the Board of Visitors treated his battle against the federal government.

In the spring, Ryan was at the center of DEI controversy when the Department of Justice started investigating the school about its policies.

Ryan says former board member and current Rector Rachel Sheridan played a role in the pressure campaign to get him to resign.
