Russell Westbrook gets huge news with Sacramento Kings lineup decision

Russell Westbrook is getting a promotion.

On Friday night, Russ will be in the Sacramento Kings ' starting lineup.

Westbrook has been coming off the bench, and performing well.

In the starting five has been the veteran point guard Dennis Schroeder, who has been a turnstile defensively and not good enough offensively to make up for it.

And so the Kings have made the call to start Russ on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves in NBA Cup action.

Westbrook is averaging 14.5 points per game this season, which is his best mark since 2022-23.

The former triple-double superstar is also grabbing 6.2 rebounds and dishing out 5.8 assists per game while also averaging a steal a night.
