ALEXANDRIA, Ky. —

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly driving under the influence when he crashed into a school bus in Alexandria on Friday.

The crash happened around 2:28 p.m. on Friday, on U.S. 27, near Spillman Drive. Advertisement

According to Alexandria police, the bus was carrying 12 students and a bus monitor at the time of the crash, with one student hospitalized for minor injuries.

Police said Donald Weinel, 42, was under the influence when he crashed into the bus.

Weinel has been charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief.

Alexandria police were helped at the scene by Campbell County Fire/Rescue and the Campbell County Police Department.
