LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -A room full of supporters gathered in Lansing to back a vision for a new justice center in Guatemala designed to help young victims of sexual assault.

The goal belongs to Kids Alive International, an organization dedicated to helping children who have experienced trauma.

“[Kid’s Alive International] not only shows them they matter and helps them in every way. But, they teach them about a new way of life that is positive, joyous, and fulfilled,” said Hon. Rosemarie Aquilina, an Ingham County Circuit Court Judge, who served as a guest speaker at the event.

The organization has helped nearly 60,000 people as of June this year.

In addition to an existing center in Guatemala, Kids Alive International has centers in countries including Zambia, Kenya, Lebanon, and Peru.
