MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa —

A Marshalltown Community School District employee was arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

Stacy Galema, 35, is listed on the district's website as an assistant soccer coach. According to a criminal complaint, a former student reported having a relationship with Galema between 2014 and 2020. Documents show it started before the victim started 9th grade and ended after the victim graduated.

Galema is charged with lascivious conduct with a minor and two counts of sexual exploitation.

The Marshalltown Community School District says Galema was immediately placed on administrative leave.
